DNA Testing for Genealogy In-Person

Join Heather Kisilywicz for an informational lecture on the most popular DNA tests available and how they can help with your genealogical research.

Heather earned a certificate in genealogy from Boston University, is an enthusiastic member of the Rhode Island Genealogical Society, and frequent lecturer around the state on genealogy, including how to leverage DNA test results for genealogical research. Heather is the Assistant Director and Chief Genealogist at the South County Museum, located in Narragansett, Rhode Island. 

She is currently researching the first commercial fishing families of Point Judith for the new exhibit opening in May: “Then and Now.” Her areas of research include New England starting in the 1600s, Canada, Nova Scotia, and DNA. She has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Rhode Island and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Library and Information Sciences.
