Join us for a presentation by Detective Joseph Lavallee and Detective Corporal Jeffrey Mace on how to identify phone and internet scams and avoid becoming a victim of cyber crime.

This one-hour presentation will include an overview of how the internet works and how information can be accessed on the internet; methods people can use to protect themselves and their personal information; and popular scams to be aware of.  The speakers will also discuss what to do if someone is the victim of a scam.  

Free and open to the public. Registration is requested. 

Detective Joseph Lavallee is a member of the Newport Police Department and of both the Rhode Island Joint Cyber Task Force and the Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Detective Corporal Jeffrey Mace is a member of the East Providence Police Department and of both the Rhode Island Joint Cyber Task Force and the Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
