Chief Anthony Pesare has recently retired from the Middletown, RI, Police Department after sixteen years of service. Before that, he served as the Dean of the School of Justice Studies at Roger Williams University. His distinguished law enforcement career spanned twenty-four years with the Rhode Island State Police, where he ultimately rose to the rank of Major. The Chief is an inductee of the R. I. Attorney General’s Criminal Justice Hall of Fame.

While serving in the Intelligence Unit of the State Police, he investigated organized crime, which provides the foundation for his Gino Peterson novels, with Back In The Game being the second installment in the series, following They Always Win.

Pesare earned a B.S. degree in Administration of Justice from Roger Williams University, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Rhode Island, and a Juris Doctor from the New England School of Law in Boston, MA.
