Going to Extremes: Adventures in Travel Writing In-Person
Join us for "Going to Extremes", a talk by nationally-known adventure travel journalist and book author, Peter Mandel, on Thursday, September 12 at 6:00 PM.
Peter will show slides of his most extreme travel experiences — surviving a coup in Ecuador, visiting a ‘city’ of penguins at the South Pole, fishing for piranha on Brazil’s Rio Negro, floating in the Goodyear Blimp, sailing on an Arctic icebreaker, camping in the African bush, and kayaking to the Statue of Liberty — and talk about how travel experiences turn into compelling stories in today's magazines and newspapers.
This event is perfect for:
- Travel enthusiasts
- Aspiring writers
- Anyone who craves adventure!
Register below. Held in the Friends Program room on the lower level of the Library.
