American Classics Book Group In-Person
It can be deeply satisfying to read, or to re-read, a classic novel. In this 3-part series book group, we’ll venture from Nathaniel Hawthorne’s darkly Puritan Massachusetts in The Scarlet Letter to Willa Cather’s expansive midwestern prairie in O Pioneers, and finally to the Louisiana bayou country of Ernest Gaines’ modern masterpiece, A Lesson Before Dying. Come to one session or all three and contribute to a lively discussion of three works that are considered among the great works of American literature.
